Israeli agro-industrial firm LR Group visits Murcia

Cong. Kiko Benitez together with Mayor Gerry M. Rojas, Vice Mayor Johnny P. Reosura and the SB Members discussed the solar-powered irrigation systems proposed by the LR Group namely Ilan Weiss, Arvi Elkayam, Shahar Turgeman, and Galliit Tamir.
According to the group, the proposed SPIS is a sustainable and diesel-free irrigation and fertilization (fertigation) system that can irrigate rice and other high-value crops all year round. The technology also includes a satellite-based system that allows remote and real-time monitoring of water and vegetation levels that enables precision agriculture and leads to higher crop yields.
Several locations were visited in Barangay Lopez Jaena together with the OPA Negros Occidental, DA., PB Leopoldo Agudo, PB Larry Alvarez and PB Alan Baliguas.
The group also went to PHILRICE for a courtesy visit with PhilRice Head Engr. Gerardo Estoy. *
