During yesterday’s press conference in the House of Representatives, I addressed more questions regarding the establishment of the Negros Island Region (NIR).

There is consensus among legislators and local government officials about the need for NIR to improve access to government services.
The previous administration’s concerns to approve NIR was mainly due to budgetary issues.
To address this, the NIR Bill includes a transition team, composed of the Bacolod City Mayor and Provincial Governors of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.

This team will allocate funds and establish timelines for relocating regional offices based on cost-benefit analysis and the capacity of each LGU to support the transition.

We will all work together to realize our dream of a united Negros Island para sa pag asenso sang tagsa-tagsa nga Negrense!
