Bamboo Planting At Malogo Watershed

Cong. Kiko Benitez joined the June 23 ceremonial planting of bamboos at the Malogo Watershed in Victorias City, an activity organized by the Provincial Environment Management Office and the US Agency for International Development to mark celebration of Arbor Day and as part of the Provincial Integrated Water Security Program.

Leading the activity was Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson together with Victorias Mayor Wantan Palanca, Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante and Provincial Administrator Atty. Ray Diaz. Also present were Provincial Consultant Rafael Coscolluela and Executive Assistant Julie Ann Bedrio.

The Integrated Water Security Program solidifies the province’s commitment to increase access to water supply, improve water resource management and strengthen water sector governance.

The activity is designed to promote the use of bamboo that is vital to prevent soil erosion, intensify forest protection as well as conservation.*
