AT a policy review meeting in Congress on Aug. 18, 2022, the key policy measure underscored by Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations (Creba) National President Noel “Toti” Cariño was the amendment of Republic Act 7835 or the Comprehensive and Integrated Shelter Financing Act of 1994 to help make home lending sustainable and more affordable for beneficiaries of socialized and economic housing, which has been a banner program under Creba’s five-point agenda for housing.
Also present at the meeting with Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Committee, and with Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino, first nominee of the One Filipinos Worldwide party-list, were heads of the National Real Estate Association, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association Inc., the Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines Inc., and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.
