Third District Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez turned over three priority infrastructure projects to the Municipality of E. B. Magalona, costing a total of P17 million, in two separate ceremonies on March 17, a press release from E.B. Magalona said.

All three projects are located in Barangay Alicante.

Benitez turned over a new multi-purpose covered court worth P6 million and a new Day Care Center worth P5 million to the barangay, located at St. Michael Subdivision.

Afterwards, he led the blessing of the new covered court of Alicante Elementary School, also worth P6 million.

Receiving the projects were E.B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon, Punong Barangay Leah Ruiz, and School Principal Rowena Bulfa.

They were joined by congressional staff, barangay officials, faculty members, PTA officers, and alumni association officers and members.

In his message, Benitez said the new day care will be a big help to children ages 3 to 5. He hopes that it will eventually level up into an Early Childhood Care and Development Center, through the support of Mayor Marvin Malacon.”

The congressman also noticed “how beautifully surrounded by trees the brand new covered court in Alicante Elementary School is.”

“This will prevent heat, especially for our little kids. We hope this court will provide a communal space for learning and development,” he added.

“Congratulations to our teachers and (pupils) on your new covered court!” Benitez added.

STRONG SUPPORT

Mayor Marvin Malacon expressed his gratitude to Benitez for his strong support to Saraviahanon, especially to the education of young people.

“We are sincerely grateful to our beloved congressman, Cong. Kiko, for his overflowing love and unwavering support to Saraviahanon people,” Malacon said.

Addressing the parents, Malacon said the national and local governments, as well as the DepEd, have done their part, it’s time that more parents also do their share.

“The present breed of children needs more discipline; parents must take a proactive role in educating our children,” the mayor added.

School Principal Rowena Bulfa said, “We are very grateful to Cong. Kiko Benitez and Mayor Marvin Malacon for this project, as this covered court is a dream come true for Alicante Elementary School. Rain or shine, we now have a ready venue for all our programs and events.”*
